JOE NIEMAND. 20 MARCH 2012. COCA-COLA DOME. SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. 500 VOICE MASS CHOIR.
Night of Light is a one-night-only performance by South African artist Joe Niemand, on the 20th of March 2012 at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg. It is the first time a local singer will headline this enormous 18 000-seater indoor arena, forever changing South African music history.
This massive scale music concert, created in the biggest indoor arena in Southern Africa, rests safely in the hands of a team of South Africa‘s top musicians and technicians. The arena regularly hosts international acts such as Andre Rieu, Bryan Adams and Sting. With world-class sound and lighting, a symphony orchestra and a 500 voice mass choir, Night of Light promises to be an unmissable event.
Night of Light is “the soundtrack to Joe‘s music career” as songwriter and singer. With 7 albums stretching over a 10-year career, the evening will be an assemblage of his best and most popular hits with songs like the radio hit, “Words”, as well as the theme song to the ever popular Faith Like Potatoes film, “A New Day”. The event will also include one of 2011‘s biggest selling albums, “Ek Sal Nie Bang Wees nie”, which recently achieved platinum status.
In a time when most in the music industry are downscaling, many may ask how it is that Niemand is producing a production of epic scale. “There isn‘t a lot that has made sense about my career these past few years, but I believe that God guides me and that is the only reason why we are attempting something as big as Night of Light,” he responds. Joe distributed the free CD, “Glory To The King” at the 2009 Mighty Men Conference, and to date 340 000 albums have been circulated worldwide.
